Middle Tennessee has a long and proud history of success on the baseball diamond. The Middle Tennessee coaching staff is recognized as one of the best in the country. The one missing ingredient is a state-of-the-art stadium.

This is a chance for you to step up to the plate and truly make a difference. Your generosity will go a long way in helping build a first-class stadium.

The home field advantage will put the Blue Raiders in an even better situation as they strive in their quest for conference tournaments, NCAA Regionals, and an ultimate trip to the College World Series.

Circle the bases with the Blue Raiders and help us hit the ultimate grand slam.

For more information about this project please contact Associate Director of Athletics Alan Farley at (615) 898-2210. We welcome any questions or concerns you may have.

Why are we building a new stadium?
We have a serious need to upgrade our facility for our fans and players. The new baseball stadium will be a crown jewel for our community and University. It will demonstrate a commitment to baseball and will honor the Blue Raider baseball tradition. The new stadium will allow us to compete on a national scale and continue recruiting quality baseball players.

Where will the new stadium be located?
The location of the stadium will be where Reese Smith Field currently exists, on the corner of Blue Raider Drive and Faulkinberry Drive on the campus of Middle Tennessee.

What features will be in the new stadium?
The new stadium will feature many great amenities for players and fans alike. Fans will be greeted with a plaza area when entering the stadium that will serve both baseball and football games. The entry will be designed to feel like you are entering something special—because you are! Our stadium will be able to offer much more in improved concessions, merchandising and restroom facilities. A state-of-the-art sound system will be enjoyed while sitting in a new and improved seating area. The players will enjoy enlarged NCAA regulation dugouts and will have the opportunity to play before 3,000 Blue Raider fans. A new press box featuring electronic television and radio capabilities will be built to be championship tournament ready.

What do I need to do to make this project a success?
There is an opportunity for everyone to help make this project a success: (1) Making a capital gift to the project, or (2) Purchase chairback seats in the stadium, or (3) Make a donation, or (4) Get your business or company involved with capital donations or purchasing chairback seats, and (5) Help us find other potential donors.

What is considered a capital gift?
Any pledge or gift of $10,000 or more.

How long do I have to pay off a capital pledge to the baseball stadium?
For a capital pledge of $10,000 or more, individuals may have up to four years to pay off the pledge, which would be $2,500 yearly.

Do I receive Blue Raider Athletic Association credit for my capital pledge to the baseball stadium?
Yes. For capital gifts of $10,000 or more individuals will receive 50 percent credit to the BRAA for what is given toward the pledge each year. So, if a person makes a $10,000 pledge and pays $2,500 the first year, they will receive $1,250 credit toward the BRAA. We are, however, encouraging you to continue to give to the BRAA at your present level.

What is chairback seating?
Chairback seats are the individual seats with backs that are provided with arm rests and are located below the stadium crosswalk at field level ($1,500) between first and third base, and above the crosswalk ($1,000) in front of the press box. When you purchase the rights to a chairback seat you receive a personalized name plate attached to your seat for a 10-year period.

Why should I purchase a field level chairback seat?
First, you are much closer to the action and will be better able to see and hear the players and coaches and how they react during the game. The game will literally be in front of you. Your view will be one of the best in college baseball and there will not be a better way to entertain clients and friends. Secondly, your view will be unobstructed because the crosswalk for the stadium will be behind you; therefore, there will be less traffic passing in front of you during the game. Obviously, you will also be helping us build a championship stadium.

If I purchase a chairback seat in the baseball stadium, what will be the priority process for determining seat selection?
First priority to seat selection goes to donors of capital gifts. Priority for seat selection on non-capital gifts will be according to present BRAA membership level, previous giving experience, and number of years of giving. Therefore, higher BRAA memberships will pick before lower BRAA memberships, and lower BRAA memberships will pick before individuals who are not BRAA members.

Can I improve my seat selection priority by increasing my BRAA membership level or by joining the BRAA?
Yes.

How can I pay for my seat purchase or capital pledge?
You may pay by check, credit card, or bank draft.

What happens to my gift if the stadium is not built by 2009?
The stadium will be built by 2009. One of the conditions of the city of Murfreesboro's investment is that it has to be spent by October 2008. We will raise funds and maximize our dollars by Goundhog Day 2007. We will build the best stadium with the available dollars at this time. This is why we need your financial contribution now.

Can I sit in my seat that I have purchased?
Yes, as long as you continue to purchase your baseball season tickets for the 10-year period.

Can I donate to the baseball stadium campaign even if I don’t wish to purchase a chairback seat or make a capital gift?
Yes, all donations are welcomed and appreciated.

What part of my gift or donation is tax deductible?
Your donation is tax deductible. We strongly urge you to contact your tax consultant for the specific IRS regulations.

I have already purchased a seat in the old stadium at $250. Will I have a seat in the new stadium?
You will be given credit of $250 toward a new chairback seat. Therefore, if you purchase one of the new $1,000 chairback seats, you will need to pay only $750. If you choose not to pay the $750, there will be a commemorative plaque placed at the front of the stadium listing all of the original chairback seat holders in the old stadium.
