Adam Herring, a former linebacker at Auburn, begins his first season at Middle Tennessee as a graduate assistant on defense.
Herring, a product of Springdale, Ark., played for the Tigers from 2007 to 2009 and was a member of the 2007 Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl Champions and the 2009 Outback Bowl Champions. A two-year letterman, Herring played in 19 games and earned seven starts from 2008 to 2009 before a career ending ankle injury cut his playing time short.
Herring is the son of Houston Texans linebackers coach Reggie Herring, who played with Rick Stockstill at Florida State in the late 70s and early 80s.
Herring earned his Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Auburn in 2011. He is working toward a master’s degree in sports management at Middle Tennessee.
