Festus Chemaoi

Assistant Coach

Festus Chemaoi joined the Blue Raider coaching staff in 2012 after a historic career competing for Middle Tennessee.

In his senior season (2010-11),Chemaoi became the first male runner at Middle Tennessee to qualify for the NCAA Cross Country Championships since 1971 after earning All-NCAA South Regional (10K) honors by finishing 13th at the NCAA South Regional (10K) in a time of 30:38.50. He also garnered all-conference honors after placing second at the Sun Belt Championships (8K) in 26:42.14.

On the track, Chemaoi posted fourth-place finishes in the mile run and the 3,000 meter run at the Sun Belt Championships. Outdoors, Chemaoi shined with a bronze medal finish at the Sun Belt Championships in the 1,500 meter race and qualified for the NCAA East Region Preliminaries with a 1,500 meter time of 3:47.08

Chemaoi, a native of Ainobkoi, Kenya, is the son of David Chemaoi and Nelly Kiplagat.
