Kevin McMillan
Assistant Coach

Kevin McMillan begins his second year as an assistant coach for the Middle Tennessee women's basketball program.

Prior to taking the assistant coaching position at Middle Tennessee, McMillan spent eight years as the Head Coach girl's basketball team at Martin Westview High School. While at Martin Westview, he compiled a record of 195-67 and reached the state tournament in 2001, 2003 and 2005.

"I just love coaching the women's game," McMillan said. "The staff Coach [Rick] Insell has put together and what he is doing is just going to be wonderful for women's basketball in Middle Tennessee and I am excited to be a part of it."

From 1990-97, McMillan was the head coach at Millington High School, amassing a record of 177-47 and led his team to the state tournament quarterfinals in 1994. Overall, McMillan has a record of 372-114 as a Head Girls Basketball Coach and was named the Jackson Sun Coach of the Year in 2003.

McMillan's duties will include on-the-floor coaching, recruiting and overseeing the academic advancement of the student-athletes. Insell is looking forward to McMillan coming in and bringing his style of coaching to the Middle Tennessee women's basketball program.

"There isn't a lot of time to sit back and think about my new position," McMillan said. "I have come on campus having to hit the ground running, heading out on the recruiting trail."

Under his coaching leadership, 21 players have gone on to play basketball in college. One of McMillan's former players, Natalie Sneed, played at Middle Tennessee from 1995-98.

McMillan played basketball for Wake Forest for one season, 1985, before transferring to Rhodes College to finish out his career from 1986-89. An All-Conference performer in 1988, he received his B.A. in math and business in 1989.

McMillan and his wife Paige have two sons, Ben and Matt.
