Laetitia Florimond begins her third season on the Middle Tennessee coaching staff after a successful career as a Blue Raider. She spent the last two years as a graduate assistant at her alma mater.
Florimond holds the school-record in the javelin with a mark of 140-9 and ranks second in the discus (143-6) and fourth in the shot put (47-5.25) on the Blue Raider Honor Roll.
The Gardahne, France, native began her coaching career in 2000 at a primary school in Salon de Provence in her home country. She has overseen the throwers at Middle Tennesse the last two years, including all-conference performers James Thomas, Willie Parker, Meaghan Byrd, Brittany Cox and MeLyn Thompson.
Florimond has taken part in a speed development camp at Texas and was an intern with the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association in 2007. She also serves as a unit leader for Girl Scouts of Middle Tennessee.
Florimond graduated from Middle Tennessee with a bachelor's in Physical Education in 2005 and a master's in Sport Management in 2007. She is currently an adjunct professor at Middle Tennessee.
