2012 Football Roster

Lance Basler

Director of Player Personnel

Lance Basler enters his first year as the Director of Player Personnel on Rick Stockstill’s staff.

Basler oversees the football program's high school relations, recruiting logistics and communications, and team practice facilities while assisting with the football program's day-to-day operations.

As part of his recruiting responsibilities, Basler oversees all of the football programs web content. This includes CoachStockstill.com, which provides recruits and fans alike with an interactive, all-access look at the Blue Raider football program. As part of CoachStockstill.com, Basler handles the Twitter and Facebook accounts that allow Coach Stockstill to increase exposure of the entire program. Basler also oversees the football program’s “Stock Report Blog” which posts practice reports, pictures, video and other content aimed at boosting visibility for the program.

The Boise, Idaho, native made his way to Murfreesboro from the University of Missouri, where he served as a football operations intern. Basler assisted with all matters pertaining to the daily operations of the football program. He also conducted an internal analysis to find competitive advantages and disadvantages in order to make strategic and budgetary recommendations as the program moved into the Southeastern Conference.

Prior to his time at Missouri, Basler served on the football operations staff at San Diego State University. While there, he assisted the Director of Football Operations with the coordination of team travel, game day logistics, and both official and unofficial recruiting visits. He was also instrumental in creating a budget for all offseason activities and helping to manage events such as team outings, pre-season practices, summer camps, and the Women’s Football Academy.

Before joining the San Diego State staff, Basler earned a degree in business administration from the University of Washington in 2007. During his tenure at San Diego State, he also earned an MBA in Sports Business Management.
