Margo Pruis is entering her first season as a graduate assistant with the women's softball team.
The Morrison, Ill. native earned numerous accolades during her four years at Wichita State University, being honored as the Missouri Valley Conference Pitcher of the Week six times. Pruis was also was named to the State Farm MVC All-Tournament Team three times and First-Team All-MVC in 2007.
Pruis set career school records in several categories including strikeouts (853), wins (77), shutouts (26), no hitters (5) and lowest opponent batting average (.172). She finished as the first pitcher in school history to win 20 games in three-straight seasons and ranks third in Missouri Valley Conference history in both career victories and strikeouts.
Her success continued on as a professional in 2007 after being signed as an undrafted free agent by the Philadelphia Force of National Professional Fastpitch League. She has a combined compiled a 10-10 over two seasons and struck out 87 batters in 141 innings.
"I am excited to have been given the opportunity to be part of the Middle Tennessee softball program," Pruis said. "We have been working very hard this fall and I am looking forward to seeing what we will achieve in the upcoming season."
Pruis graduated from Wichita State in 2007 with a bachelor's degree in secondary education and a concentration in mathematics. She was born and raised in northern Illinois where her family currently resides. Pruis is the daughter of Gary and Brenda Pruis. She has one brother, Casey.
