Chad Williams begins his first season as a defensive graduate assistant for Rick Stockstill after spending the 2012 campaign on the staff at Jacksonville State.
Williams was a three-year starter at Southern Miss where he learned under current Blue Raider defensive coordinator Tyrone Nix. Williams helped the Golden Eagles to the 1999 Conference USA Championship and also picked up a win over Colorado State in the Liberty Bowl.
He was a four-year letterman at Southern Miss where he earned first team All-C-USA honors in 2000 and 2001. Williams served as team captain his senior year.
Williams was drafted in the sixth round of the 2002 NFL Draft by the Baltimore Ravens, where he spent four seasons. He then signed with the San Francisco 49ers as a free agent in 2006 before signing with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2007.
Williams began his coaching career at Wenonah High School in 2007, where he handled the defensive line. He spent the 2011 season at Morehouse College overseeing the linebackers and special teams.
