Eady Leads Middle Tennessee at Yellowjacket Invitational

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Letitia Eady finished fifth and sixth in the triple and long jump, respectively, to lead the Middle Tennessee track teams at the Yellowjacket Invitational in Atlanta, Ga., on Saturday.

Eady jumped 39-10.5 in the triple jump to finish fifth, then came back to clear 18-7.75 in the long jump and finish sixth among 34 competitors. Rolanda Howard was sixth in the triple jump with a mark of 39-0.5.

Also for the Lady Raiders, senior Tori Blander ran 1:02.43 in the 400m hurdles, finishing fifth. She also was seventh in the javelin with a mark of 118-1. Kelley Smith came in eighth in the javelin with a mark of 114-10.

For the Blue Raiders, Brad Orr placed fifth in the 110m hurdles in a time of 14.68, then finished eighth in the 400m hurdles in 54.01.

Omar Ali came in fifth in the 200m in 21.47, while Lindsay Sims placed sixth in the javelin with a mark of 169-3.

The Blue Raiders and Lady Raiders will both compete in the Sea Ray Relays in Knoxville, Tenn., this Friday and Saturday on the University of Tennessee campus.
