MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - The Middle Tennessee media relations office learned recently that the 2001 Football Media Guide was voted the "Best Press Guide" in the state of Tennessee. The award is given annually by the Tennessee Sports Writers Association.
The press guide category is for all levels and is voted on by judges from another state. Ranked No. 2 in the state behind Middle Tennessee was the University of Tennessee Football Media Guide followed by Carson-Newman's Football Guide at No. 3.
The judges sent in the following comment about the 2001 Blue Raider guide: "It's refreshing to see a media friendly football guide that was well organized and did not overwelm with girth, doubling as a recruiting brochure."
The Middle Tennessee media relations office was presented a plaque for the honor.
The 2002 guide will be available by July 15.
