MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Five different Middle Tennessee football players have been recognized by Football News on its 2002 Preseason All-Sun Belt Conference team. The publication only picked a first team offense and defense.

Highlighting the list of Blue Raiders on the 2002 squad were Heisman Trophy candidate Dwone Hicks and wide receiver Tyrone Calico. Hicks was last year's SBC Offensive Player of the Year after pacing the league in rushing and touchdowns, while Calico is the second leading receiver in school history.

Other Blue Raiders on the list were offensive tackle Brandon Westbrook, free safety Michael Woods, and punter Robert Billings.
