Lady Raiders Fall 3-2 to Mississippi State
September 10, 2002 · MT Media RelationsAfter winning the first game, the Lady Raiders dropped game two and four. Middle Tennessee picked up game three and had a chance to close out the match in game four, but the Bulldogs pulled out the game 30-27. In game five, Middle Tennessee had a .053 hitting percentage as opposed to Mississippi Stateï¾’s .450 and could never find their rhythm.
Senior Erin Hillstrom led all scorers with 22 kills in her double-double performance as she also had 12 digs. She had a hitting percentage of .514 with 37 attacks and only three errors.
Sophomore KeKe Deckard was second on the team with 21 kills and also had a double-double with 15 digs. Senior Jennifer Hignite also scored in double figures with 10 kills.
The Lady Raiders go back on the road on Friday September 13 to participate in the Auburn tournament. Middle Tennessee faces host Auburn at 7 p.m. on Friday.
