Hattiesburg, Miss. - Middle Tennessee fired a 289 on the final day of the Cellular One Raising Cane Classic to finish in eighth place out of 17 teams. The Blue Raiders had a three-round total of 879 (300-290-289) on the Canbrake Golf Club Course.

"We played a lot better today," said Head Coach Johnny Moore. "It could of been a lot better round, but we stumbled a little down the stretch. For the first tournament of the year, however, I was pretty pleased with what I saw out there this week."

Senior Patrick Williams continued his strong play by shooting a one-over par 72 on Tuesday to finish with an aggregate of 216. Williams was 14th overall. Charlie Gibson tied for 18th with a 218, Carter Henderson shot a 223 for a tie for 38th, Blake Bivens tied for 57th with 228 and Josh Nelms tied for 61st with a 229.

The Blue Raiders will now have off until heading to Monroe, LA, on Sept. for the Fred Marx Intercollegiate.
