Lady Raiders Finish Second at Memphis Women's IntercollegiateSeptember 17, 2002 · MT Media Relations
The Lady Raiders trailed second-place New Orleans by one shot heading into Tuesday's final round, then shot the low round of the day, a 304, to finish in second behind tourney winner Memphis. The squad bested its previous low team score for a three-round tourney by 33 shots, a 952 at last year's Lady Trojan Classic.
Munsch's seventh-place finish is her best since last year's Sun Belt Championships. The Hays, Kan., native had rounds of 71 and 73 with an 81 sandwiched in-between to finish six strokes behind winner Jennifer Jaszek of Memphis.
Sophomores Amanda Harter and Kristin Lynch each shot 76 on Tuesday, giving both players three rounds in the 70's. Lynch finished eighth at 72-78-76-228, while Harter was tied for 11th at 78-76-76-230. Harter has now played six straight rounds in the 70's this fall, and Lynch has four straight dating to the first tourney of the fall season.
The Lady Raiders play again next Monday and Tuesday at the Louisville Invitational in Louisville, Ky.
