Miguez Tallies Hat Trick in Blue Raider Win

The Blue Raiders (4-6-1) got on the board midway through the opening half when LaDuke scored her third goal of the year, and Miguez and Linder added scores before the break for a 3-0 Middle Tennessee halftime lead.
Miguez and Linder scored back-to-back again 10 minutes into the second half before the homestanding Hatters (4-4) netted their only goal on a penalty kick from Emma Astrom. The Blue Raiders scored three more times in the final 10 minutes of the match, including Emily Carter's third goal of the year. Sophomore Jessica Northcutt also added three assists in the victory.
Middle Tennessee outshot the Hatters, 29-14, with Blue Raider keeper Emily Shrum making five saves in getting her fourth win of the season. Two Hatter keepers combined for 14 saves.
The Blue Raiders return home Friday when they host Arkansas-Little Rock at 4 p.m. Middle Tennessee will also host Arkansas State on Sunday at 1 p.m., and play six of the final nine regular season matches at home after only three of the first 11 were played at Blue Raider Soccer Field.
