Men in 7th at Hillman Robbins

MEMPHIS, TENN. - After a disappointing opening round, Middle Tennessee's men's golf team battled back in the second round to stand in seventh place at the 2002 Hillman Robbins Memorial Intercollegiate held at The Club at Big Creek. The Blue Raiders had rounds of 314-299=613 and are 25 shots behind first place South Alabama.

Senior Patrick Williams leads all Blue Raider scores with a two-round total of 151. Williams, who is in a tie for 17th, opened with a 76 before registering a 75 in round two. Blake Bivens is tied for 22nd with a 152, while Charlie Gibson is in 34th position. Gibson struggled with an 80 in the first round, then came back to fire a 74 in the afternoon.

Carter Henderson is in 44th place after tallying a 156, while Willie Daniel completed the scoring with a 161.

Final round action is slated to begin at 8 a.m. on Tuesday.
