Blue Raiders Drop Decision at North Texas
October 13, 2002 · MT Media RelationsPina netted the first score of the match in the ninth minute on an assist from Misty Cordon, and Marin gave UNT (9-4, 3-2 Sun Belt) a 2-0 halftime edge with a score in the 43rd minute from Cordon, as well.
Pina scored twice in the first seven minutes of the second half, the first on an assist from Marin, and then on an assist from Lindsay Bibb, for a 4-0 UNT lead. Marin netted the final two goals in the 63rd and 66th minutes, unassisted on the first score and from Bibb on the second.
UNT outshot the Blue Raiders, 17-16, in the match, but a whopping 13-7 in the second half. Middle Tennessee (6-8-1, 2-3 SBC) did force a pair of Mean Green keepers to make 11 saves in the match.
The Blue Raiders return home this Friday for a 4 p.m. match versus Western Kentucky, and also host Austin Peay on Sunday at 1 p.m.
