Men's Tennis Set for Region III Championships

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee's Daniel Klemetz, Kirk Jackson, Michael Staniak and Brandon Allan will all compete in the ITA Region III Championships in Lexington, Ky., this weekend at the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Complex, a qualifier for the National Indoor Championships.

Klemetz has already qualified for the National Indoors in singles and will be the top seed for that tournament, set for November 7-10 in Dallas, Texas. The senior will play doubles this weekend with Jackson, with the 37th-ranked tandem the No. 8 seed in the Regional Championships. Klemetz and Jackson will take on the winner of Karim Alaily-Patrick Chucri of Ole Miss and Chris Magnone-Miha Lisac of Georgia State.

In other doubles action, Staniak and Allan will play Matt Armstrong and Max Fomine of Mississippi State.

In singles Staniak will play LSU's Jason Hazley, while Allan takes on South Florida's Uti Kiendl and Jackson has Mississippi State's Jerome LeBelicard.

The tournament concludes Monday with the finals, and winners will advance to the National Indoor Championships.
