Martinez Named SBC Pitcher of the Week

Martinez received only three runs in the two starts but limited the Hilltoppers offensively as she did not allow a runner to advance past second in either game. She struck out 10 in the two games walking no one as she lowered her ERA to 1.09, which ranks second in the Sun Belt Conference and 47th nationally.
Martinez (17-12) will get the starting nod for the Lady Raiders in the first game of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament, which begins Friday. The Lady Raiders face host New Mexico State at 6:00 p.m. Friday.
