Holmes Has 18 Points in Blue and White Scrimmage

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee sophomore Patrice Holmes scored 18 points in the white's 83-82 overtime loss to the blue in the Lady scrimmage on Friday in Murphy Center.

The blue squad had a chance to win the game in regulation, with the game tied 78-78, with three seconds left on the clock, but freshman Melissa Weiland's three-point attempt bounced off the rim sending the game into overtime. Holmes got the lead back for the white on a lay-up with 2:57 left to play in overtime, but the blue squad couldn't hold a lead.

Holmes was 6-11 from the field, 5-5 from the free throw line and had three rebounds in the game. White squad teammate Jennifer Justice had 17 points, pulled down six rebounds and had one steal. Sophomore Eboni Kirby had 12 points and was 5-5 from the field, with four rebounds and one assist.

Sophomore Cartia Bailey had eight points for the blue squad, with one rebound, one assist and one steal. Sophomore Jessica Schlueter had four rebounds and two steals.

The Lady Raiders will host their first exhibition game on Tuesday November 12 against Georgia College and State University. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. in Murphy Center.
