MIAMI, Fla. - Middle Tennessee volleyball player KeKe Deckard was named Sun Belt Conference Second Team All-Conference Wednesday at the tournament banquet. Deckard, a 5-7 red-shirt sophomore from Nacogdoches, Texas, averaged 3.58 kills and 3.32 digs per game during the regular season. She had 422 kills and her 19 double-doubles ranks first in the Sun Belt Conference. Karisse Baker, Dara McLean and Kelly Cannon were named to the Sun Belt Academic Honor Roll. Evi Gargalianos and Jennifer Hignite, who had a perfect 4.0, was named to the Commissioners Honor Roll.
Middle Tennessee (16-14) begins tournament action on Thursday when the number sixth seeded Lady Raiders take on the number three seed North Texas (16-16) at 6:30 p.m. at Golden Panther Arena on the campus of Florida International. The Lady Raiders lost to North Texas at home on September 27 3-0 and is 1-2 overall against the Eagles.
