Lady Raiders Fall in Semis to New Mexico State 3-0

MIAMI, Fla. - Number six seed Middle Tennessee (17-15) fell 3-0 (18-30, 23-30, 30-25) to number two seed New Mexico State (26-6) Friday in the semi-finals of the Sun Belt Conference Volleyball Championships in Golden Panther Arena.

Middle Tennessee tried to mount a come back in game three, with the game tied at 24-24. However the Lady Aggies went on a 6-1 run to take the game and the match 30-25.

Although Middle Tennessee had a more productive hitting percentage (.239) in the second game New Mexico State had an even better one with .318. Each team had four errors, but the Lady Raiders also had two service errors and no service aces which led to the Lady Aggies 30-23 win.

After the Lady Raiders opened game one with three straight points, New Mexico State went on a 5-0 run and never looked back. The Lady Raiders poor attack percentage of .026 coupled with eight costly errors helped give the Lady Aggies take the game 30-18. Sophomore KeKe Deckard led all scorers with 13 kills and she also registered 11 digs, which gives her 21 double-doubles to end the season.

Seniors Erin Hillstrom and Kelly Quinn ended their season with 11 digs apiece and freshman Kimberly Moeller added 14.
