Lady Raiders Pick Up 500th Win
November 25, 2002 · MT Media RelationsCOOKEVILLE, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee women's basketball (1-0) picked up their 500th win with a 71-59 win over in-state rival Tennessee Tech (1-1).
After spotting Tennessee Tech six points in the opening minutes of the game, the Lady Raiders stormed back to tie the game. A Tiffany Fisher steal and break away lay-up gave Middle Tennessee a 14-12 lead and the team never looked back.
In the first half, Middle Tennessee only allowed two Tennessee Tech field goals in the final 10 minutes. With the Lady Raiders picking the Lady Eaglettes pocket for eight steals.
Five Lady Raiders scored in double figures with Tia Stovall and Jennifer Justice leading the way with 14. Fisher and Patrice Holmes each had 13 and Keisha McClinic had 11.
Middle Tennessee continues its road swing when the Lady Raiders travel to Cincinnati on Saturday to take on the Lady Bearcats. Tip-off is set for 4 p.m. CST.
