TAMPA, Fla. - Heavy, swirling winds that preceded a storm front through Tampa brought the first round leaders at the Dick Wittcoff Invitational back to the pack in Saturday's second round. Middle Tennessee dropped to 13th place overall after recording a 313.
Jacksonville State took over the team lead from first round leader South Alabama, despite shooting a 306, 14 shots off its first round score. However, South Alabama faltered to 313 after an opening round 287.
Senior Patrick Williams moved from a tie for 12th overall to eighth despite shooting a 76 in round two. Williams had a 74 in round one.
Charlie Gibson and Blake Bivens are currently tied for 37th overall. Gibson had a 78 on Saturday, while Bivens turned in a 77. Josh Nelms is tied for 65th following a second round 82, and Taylor Bowers is tied for 70th.
The Blue Raiders will play the final round on Sunday.
