TAMPA, Fla. - Middle Tennessee shot the third best round of the day on Sunday to finish ninth at the South Florida Invitational. The Blue Raiders had a 54-hole total of 930, but climbed four positions on Sunday from 13th to ninth.
Jacksonville State won the event with a 902, while UCF was three shots back in second and host South Florida was third.
Patrick Williams once again led the way for Middle Tennessee as he continued his impressive senior season. Williams carded a final round 69 to match the best round of the day, which enabled him to finish third overall with a 219.
Charlie Gibson made a big jump up the board for the Blue Raiders on Sunday with a 73. Gibson, who finished tied for 20th, improved 19 spots on Sunday as he carried a three-day score of 230.
The Blue Raiders will travel to LSU next weekend for the LSU Invitational.
