MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -- The Middle Tennessee track and field team failed to qualify anymore individuals or relay teams for the NCAA Championships during competition at the Last Chance Invitational in Ames, Iowa, on Saturday.
Senior Jasper Demps and freshman Linnie Yarbrough ran 7.99 and 8.07, respectively, in the 60m hurdle preliminaries, failing to qualify for the event finals.
Sophomore Kishara George was 10th in the 400m in 56.11, while Rosemary Okafor was sick and did not run in the 400m. Okafor's illness also stopped the women's 4x400m relay from competing.
The men's 4x400m relay squad of Wesley Dupar-Scott, DJ Spann, Tim Hicks and Sean Waller finished sixth in 3:09.42.
Mardy Scales is automatically qualified in the 60m and Okafor is provisionally qualified in the 60 and 200m for next weekend's NCAA Championships in Fayetteville, Ark. Okafor will find out early this week if she will run Friday at the Randal Tyson Track Center on the University of Arkansas campus.
