Calico Has Private WorkoutMarch 13, 2003 · MT Media Relations
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Tyrone Calico, Middle Tennessee's second all-time leading receiver, went through a private workout Thursday morning on campus with three NFL teams. The Millington, TN, native was put through positional drills by the Philadelphia Eagles, Atlanta Falcons, and the Houston Texans.
The scouts on hand were David Culley (Eagles), George Stewart (Falcons), and Kippy Brown (Texans).
Middle Tennessee Head Coach Andy McCollum was out of town and could not attend the workout, but he stayed on the phone during the entire session with assistant head coach Kevin Fouquier.
"Andy wanted to know every detail and how Tyrone was doing," Fouquier said. "It was just like he was here.
"As for Tyrone, he had a very strong workout with the scouts on hand. They were all very impressed and feel like he as a very bright future in the NFL."
The 2003 NFL Draft is scheduled for April 26-27.
