Williams Ties For Tourney Title
March 15, 2003 · MT Media RelationsMURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Senior Patrick Williams fired a final-round 71 to tie Brandon Henson of Murray State for medalist honors, and Middle Tennessee shot a 293 on Saturday to finish second at the Morehead State University/Silver Spring Shores Invitational.
Williams and teammate Carter Henderson both shot 71 in the final round, the second lowest round of the day, bested only by a 69 fired by Morehead State's Casey Wade. Williams and Henson both finished at 218 (+2) for the tournament.
The Blue Raiders placed three played in the Top 10, with Henderson tying for fourth at 220, while Blake Bivens shot 75 on Saturday to tie for 10th at 225. Josh Nelms shot 79 on the final day to finish at 229, while Taylor Bowers came in at 238 after a final-round 76. Charlie Gibson finished at 242.
Middle Tennessee next plays at the UALR Chenal Cup in Little Rock, Ark., March 24-25.
