Scales Gets Second All-America Honor

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee's Mardy Scales finished seventh in the 60m finals Saturday during the final day of competition at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships at the Randal Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville, Ark.

Scales ran 6.70 in the finals, earning his second straight All-America honor in the process. The Franklin, Tenn., native placed eighth in the 60m at last year's Indoor Championships. Scales earned the 66th All-America honor for a Middle Tennessee trackster under head coach Dean Hayes.

 

Julien Dunkley of East Carolina won the 60m. Dunkley ran 6.55 in the prelims Friday night before besting that time with a 6.54 in Saturday's finals.

 

The Blue Raider and Lady Raider squads will swing back into action next week, beginning the outdoor season at the Alabama Relays in Tuscaloosa, Ala., Saturday and Sunday.
