Men's Shuttle Hurdle Relay Wins
March 23, 2003 · MT Media RelationsMURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee's men's shuttle hurdle relay won and the men's 4x400m relay came five-hundredths of a second from winning on the second and final day of competition Sunday at the Alabama Relays in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
The shuttle hurdle relay finished in 57.34 to take the victory for the Blue Raiders, while the men's 4x400m relay ran 3:10.06 to Alabama's 3:10.01. Middle Tennessee ran the race without anchor man Sean Waller, whose hamstring tightened a bit after the 4x200m relay earlier in the day.
The men placed second and were the top collegiate team in the 4x100, finishing in 40.54, while the Blue Raiders 4x200m relay (1:27.19) and the 1600m sprint relay (3:29.05) each came in fifth.
The Lady Raiders finished fourth in the 4x200m relay (1:37.92) and fifth in the 4x100m relay (47.28).
In the triple jump, Middle Tennessee graduate assistant Andrew Owusu won with a distance of 54-2.5, while senior Rob Jordan placed third in the event and was the top collegian with a mark of 51-1.75.
