Men Take Second, Fifth at Penn Relays
April 26, 2003 · MT Media RelationsMURFREESBORO, Tenn. - The Middle Tennessee men placed second in the 4x400m relay and finished fifth in the 4x100m relay Saturday during the final day of competition at the 109th Penn Relay Carnival at Franklin Field in Philadelphia, Pa.
The 4x400m relay squad of Victor Okorie, Fred Williams, Tim Hicks and Sean Waller placed second in the finals, running 3:07.25, the fastest time of the season in the event for the Blue Raiders.
The foursome of Mardy Scales, DJ Spann, Brad Orr and Omar Ali came in fifth in their heat of the 4x100m relay finals on Saturday. The same group did not run in the 4x200m relay finals.
The Lady Raiders foursome of Kim Freeman, Kishara George, Kerry Barrow and Rosemary Okafor also did not run in the 4x400m finals due to a leg injury to George.
The remainder of the Middle Tennessee track squads were set to run Saturday afternoon and evening at the Murray State Invitational in Murray, Ky.
