Kim Rosamond Added to Women's Basketball StaffMay 1, 2003 · MT Media Relations
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee head women's basketball coach Stephany Smith announced Thursday the addition of Kim Rosamond as an assistant women's basketball coach.
Rosamond comes to Middle Tennessee after spending five years as an assistant at Ole Miss. Her primary responsibilities at Ole Miss were coaching the perimeter players and coordinating recruiting.
"I am really excited about joining the Middle Tennessee family," Rosamond said. "I have played and coached against Middle Tennessee and have nothing but respect for the program and its traditions."
It appears the second time is the charm, as Smith tried to hire Rosamond three years ago, but she chose to stay at Ole Miss. This time, however, Rosamond was ready to become a member of the Lady Raider program, and Smith couldn't be happier.
"Things happen for a reason, and I believe Kim coming to us three years later has given here three more years of quality experience she can bring to the program," Smith said. "She is a tremendous asset to the team, the program and the community."
Rosamond's primary responsibilities will include recruiting, on the court coaching, as well as overseeing scouting efforts throughout the season.
"The timing was right for me to come to Middle Tennessee, Rosamond said. "I am elated to be a part of a quality program like the one Coach Smith has put together."
Rosamond was a four-year letterwinner for the Lady Rebels from 1995-98. Her senior year, Rosamond was the recipient of the team's Lady Rebel Award, which is given to the player who excels on and off the court.
