Senior P/PK Colby Smith
1. What is the one thing that stands out to you more than anything else from today's practice?

"The way the guys are fighting hard. We are into practice 15, I think they said, and guys still look enthused about what is going on and they are still fighting pretty hard for what we are trying to accomplish as a team."

2. If you could play any other position on the field, what would it be and why?

"That's tough because I have never played anything else. If I had to pick another position I would have to say safety. It's pretty exciting to watch Jonathan Harris (hit) a kid coming over the middle. That's a pretty exciting part of the game to me."

3. What is the best advice you have been given?

"I would give credit to coach (Rick Stockstill) and coach (Russell Patterson), and really all of the coaches, because they have done a tremendous job of making sure we never give up. Even as practice gets tougher and tougher we still have to keep our goal in mind of winning the Sun Belt Conference. They have always encouraged us to be enthusiastic and never give up on what we are doing or what we are trying to accomplish."

4. What are your thoughts on the 2006 season?

"I think we look real good right now as a team. We still have a little bit to go but that's to be expected. We are 15 practices deep in the summer and we still have 14 or 15 to go before the first game, but I think the team looks well. We are in good shape and the staff is getting us in position to make plays. I'm pretty excited about my upcoming senior season."

5. Which one of your teammates/coaches do you find to be the most interesting on or off the field and why?

"I will go with Clint Marks. I think he is pretty interesting. I hang out with him a lot off the field and he never seems to be down about anything. That, to me, is interesting because life throws you curve balls and I have never seen Clint really down about himself or anything he has ever done so he would be my choice."

6. What are some of your hobbies, interests, or hidden talents that someone may not know about?

"I love to hunt and fish. I like to hang out with the guys, golf, not that great at it but I try to have fun at everything I do."

Junior CB Roy Polite
1. What is the one thing that stands out to you more than anything else from today's practice?

"The way everybody was flying around this morning. We had two-a-days today and had the scrimmage and everybody has been getting ready because two weeks from tomorrow is game time and everybody is starting to step up, fly around and get their head right."

2. If you could play any other position on the field, what would it be and why?

"It would be running back because that's all I played in high school and middle school. That was really the only position I was used to until I came here and now I'm a corner."

3. What is the best advice you have been given?

"My dad (Milton) always tells me never quit but he also always told me life isn't easy so you have to work for what you want."

4. What are your thoughts on the 2006 season?

"I expect us to have a good season. We are picked sixth (in the Sun Belt) but we aren't worried about that. We just have to take it one game at a time and get ready for FIU. They are a good team and they beat us last year. This isn't revenge or anything, it's just we have to go out and meet the challenge in this game."

5. Which one of your teammates do you find to be the most interesting on or off the field and why?

"(Corner) Reggie Doucet. First, he's my roommate and off the field the boy is crazy. He's always loud, but I love him. He's like a brother."

6. What are some of your hobbies, interests, or hidden talents that someone may not know about?

"I can sing. I love to play basketball and run track. I love computers. My first major was computer engineering but now my major is Mass Communications, but I love working on computers."
