Siljestrom, Doubles Win in Finals

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee's Ann-Kristin Siljestrom and the doubles team of Hala Sufi and Claudia Szabo each won bracket finals while Elvira Yusupova lost in the finals Sunday during the final day of competition at the Ole Miss Fall Classic in Oxford, Miss.

Siljestrom defeated Georgia's Lara Fakhoury, 6-4, 6-0, in the Red Draw consolation finals, posting three straight wins after falling in the first round to Georgia's top-seeded Yvette Hyndman.

Sufi-Szabo rebounded after a first-round loss Friday to win three straight as well, taking care of South Alabama's Dijana Stanic and Michaela Babicova, 8-2, in the Blue Draw consolation finals Sunday.

Yusupova was the only Blue Raider to make to a main draw final, dropping a 2-6, 0-6, decision to North Florida's Florencia Torres in the NYC Draw.

The squad does not play again until October 12-15 in the ITA Southeast Regionals in Chapel Hill, N.C. Full results from the tournament may be found at olemisssports.com.
