August 2, 2003 · MT Media RelationsMCCOLLUM ON TODAY'S PRACTICE: "I thought we had another solid day of work and got in a lot of stuff. I have been very pleased with our first two workouts, but we have a long way to go before we are ready to play. These guys are focused and are working hard. We have a really good looking group of kids, who dedicated their entire summer to get better and it shows out there."
SUNDAY CHURCH: The Blue Raiders will attend Bell Aire Baptist Church on Sunday for the 10:30 worship service. Following the service, the team will have lunch at the church before returning to campus.
REST OF THE SUNDAY SCHEDULE: The team will have the afternoon off before attending position meetings and a walk-through on Sunday night.
NUMBER CHANGES: Several Blue Raiders will be donning different numbers in 2003. Following is a list: Dennis Burke (goes from 41 to 40); Wardell Alsup (goes from 6 to 12); Will Martin (goes from 12 to 6); Seth Grabo (goes from 70 to 89); Marcus Gates (goes from 79 to 57); Kelvin German (goes from 25 to 27).
FAN DAY: Middle Tennessee's annual fan day is set for August 16 at Noon in Floyd Stadium. Fans will be able to gain autographs from all the players and coaches, while also having the opportunity to take a picture with their favorite Blue Raider. There will be free cokes and hot dogs, a rock climbing wall, a football toss game, and 102.9 The Buzz will be doing a live remote from the event. Fan day is free and open to the public.
