MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee volleyball (17-6, 8-2 SBC) bounced back from its loss earlier in the week to shutout Sun Belt West opponent Louisiana-Monroe (5-21, 2-8 SBC) 3-0 (30-21, 30-26, 30-15) Friday in Alumni Memorial Gym.
The Blue Raiders started out slow but was able to get some key plays and also benefited from seven service aces. Overall, Middle Tennessee hit .322 in the match and held the Warhawks to .168.
The shutout was the sixth against a Sun Belt opponent and the 14th overall in the 23 games the Blue Raiders have played this season.
Senior Megan Sumrell notched seven assists in game three replacing Leslie Clark. Sumrell now needs just four assists to reach 4,000 assists which would make her the first Blue Raider to reach that milestone in school history.

Middle Tennessee continues its home-stand hosting Louisiana-Lafayette on Saturday. Match time is set for 5 p.m. in the Alumni Memorial Gym.
