MURFREEESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee senior women's tennis player Manon Kruse is ranked No. 37 in the ITA Preseason rankings released today.
Kruse, who attended the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships for the second year in a row in 2003, was ranked 56 in the final rankings last season. Because former Lady Raider partner Stacy Varnell graduated last spring, Head Coach Randy Holden has teamed Kruse up with another partner in fellow senior Carien Venter. The duo has received a preseason ranking of 31.
"I think the preseason rankings is a sign of progress for our program," Holden said. "It shows the respect Manon has garnered both as an individual player as well as a member of a doubles team."
The Lady Raiders will play their first fall tournament on September 26-28 when the team participates in the Furman Invitational.
