TROY, Ala. - Middle Tennessee volleyball swept Troy (9-22, 3-12 SBC) 3-0 (30-28, 30-25, 30-17) Saturday at Trojan Arena.
The Blue Raiders improve to 22-7 overall, but more importantly the club is 13-3 in the Sun Belt. The victory over the Trojans again sets up a huge match-up with Western Kentucky Saturday, November 11. Should Middle Tennessee win, and in less then five games, then the Blue Raiders would claim a share of the Sun Belt East title and the No. 1 seed. If the Blue Raiders lose then the club could tumble all the way down to the third seed in the Sun Belt Tournament which begins on November 16.
Middle Tennessee's sweep of Troy is the 10th time this season the Blue Raiders have shutout a Sun Belt opponent and the 18th in 29 matches.
Sophomore Ashley Adams led the Blue Raiders with 14 kills and also had block assists. Senior Jessica Robinson added 11 kills. Alicia Lemau'u had 13 defensive digs.
Middle Tennessee hit .320 in the match and averaged 8.50 blocks per game.
