Lady Raiders Tie for Fourth, Munsch-Akers Ties for Ninth

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee's Tamara Munsch fired an even-par 72 to tie for ninth and the Lady Raiders posted a 312 team score Sunday to tie for fourth in the rain-shortened Unlimited Potential/BayTree Classic in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

The Lady Raiders entered the day in second place after shooting a first-round 306 at BayTree Golf Plantation, led by Kristin Lynch's 74. Munsch-Akers led the squad on the final day with her even-par round to finish tied for ninth with three others at six-over-par (150).

Lynch shot a final-round 78 to tie for 16th at 152, while freshmen Maggie McGill and Jenny Kim both shot 81 on Sunday. McGill tied for 48th (158) in her first collegiate tournament, while Kim finished at 164 (t99th). Junior Amanda Harter fired an 83 on Sunday to finish at 160 (t61st).

The Lady Raiders' 618 is the second best two-round score in school history, just three shots behind last fall's 615 at the Memphis Intercollegiate. Middle Tennessee tied for fourth with Arkansas-Little Rock and finished 16 strokes behind winner Coastal Carolina.

The squad swings into action again September 21-23 at the Alabama Capstone Championships hosted by the University of Alabama at the Alabama Capstone Club in Brookwood, Ala.
