"I was really pleased with Kai's performance," said head coach Dale Short. "He did a great job in flight two and proved he may have been successful in flight one."
In doubles action, the tangent of Andreas Siljestrom and Kurruppu won the Flight One Doubles by defeating Arkansas-Little Rock's Sebastian Falk and Bastian Fasst 8-4.
"Overall I think we looked good for our first tournament," Short said. "This was a solid field and really gave us a chance to see where we are at."
