8:00 a.m. - Middle Tennessee volleyball loads the bus for the short three hour trip to Louisville, Ky. The team was scheduled to leave at 8 a.m. but had to wait on Head Coach Matt Peck who was driving back to Murfreesboro after appearing on Fox 17 at 6:45 a.m. Isn't he quite the star? The team finally got on the way around 8:30 a.m. but only made it a few miles before stopping at Panera Bread for breakfast. The players, coaches and administrative staff on the travel squad enjoyed bagels, muffins, scones and soufflés before officially getting underway.

DRIVING TO LOUISVILLE - Most of the people on the bus were asleep before the bus reached Nashville and it was quiet except for the steady hum of the bus on the interstate. Everyone began to stir as the bus reached Louisville and were completely awake when the team reached the hotel.

1:00 p.m. - After quickly checking in and dropping off the bags the team headed out to lunch. What was on the menu for the first day in Louisville? The team ate at Macaroni Grill and it was so good. Most of the travel party ordered varying pasta dishes and the strawberry lemonade was to die for.

3:00 p.m. - What is the best way to relieve the stress and pressure of the day? SHOPPING. The team spent some time at the local mall. Not sure if there was a lot of Christmas shopping done or if it was personal shopping but some of the players did come out with bags. Sasha Deptula, the trainer, didn't read the weather report for the next few days and was scrambling for a warm sweater to combat the onslaught of cold weather that will hit the area tomorrow. She picked up a nice blue sweater to wear at the match tomorrow.

4:45 p.m. - Practice time. The Blue Raiders got their first look at the court the team will be playing on Friday. It is a red and black sport-tex court. The court is in the middle of a big open area in the Kentucky Convention Center. There are seats set up on all sides of the court and it is surrounded by black pipe and drape.

6:15 p.m. - Practice ends and the team heads to dinner. After dinner the team heads back to the hotel to get a good nights rest before the big match on Friday. In the time of Christmas season most claims to have visions of sugar plums dancing in their head. For the Blue Raider volleyball team they hope to have visions of a first round win in the NCAA Tournament.
