Fans encouraged to be a part of an incredible opportunity

December 5, 2006 · MT Media Relations

Dear Blue Raider Fans:

As Sun Belt Conference champions, Middle Tennessee will be playing in the postseason for the first time at college football's highest level. We encourage you to be a part of history by purchasing tickets.

The Blue Raiders will be a part of Capital One Bowl Week on ESPN when it faces MAC Champion Central Michigan in the Motor City Bowl on December 26. The game will take place at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan, which is the same city and domed stadium that hosted the Super Bowl just 11 months ago.

Tickets can be obtained by calling the Middle Tennessee ticket office at 1-888-YES-MTSU or logging onto GoBlueRaiders.com. It is important fans purchase all tickets through Middle Tennessee. We need your support at Ford Field and ask that you make plans to attend. The Motor City Bowl presents an incredible opportunity for the Middle Tennessee program.

Please make your plans now by reserving an inexpensive airline ticket, buying a travel package by Spotlight Tours or through MiddleTennesseeTravel.com, reserving a spot on the BRAA bus, or going by car to see Middle Tennessee's first bowl game in the I-A era.

If for some reason you can't attend, we ask you to buy tickets. We will be glad to donate them to a Detroit area charity or you can keep them as historic souvenirs. In fact, we are both planning to frame our commemorative bowl poster (being designed by our media relations office) and our game tickets together to celebrate the first bowl trip by Middle Tennessee at this level.

Now it is time to take our winning team - the Blue Raiders and our loyal fans - to the Motor City Bowl to play before a national television audience. You have been a big part of making this momentous occasion take place and we are grateful for your support. Now we encourage our fans to join us for the biggest ride of all in the Motor City.
