Givens Earns Third Player of the Week Honor

Givens netted 25 points on 10-of-18 shooting, grabbed five rebounds and handed out three assists in 40 minutes of action in Middle Tennessee's only game of the week, a 70-62 victory over No. 8 Georgia in Athens. The victory was the first over a Top 10-ranked opponent in program history and the first road win over a ranked foe in school history.
Givens scored 13 points in the first half and 12 more in the second, as the Blue Raiders were behind for just over a minute in the second half en route to the victory. Givens has poured in 14 points versus No. 1 Maryland, 26 at No. 4 Tennessee and now 25 against Georgia in Middle Tennessee's three contests this season against ranked opponents, all in the Top 10.
For the season the Monroe, La., native is averaging 22.2 points per game with 6.2 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 2.3 steals. She ranks fourth nationally in scoring this week and 66th in the country in assists per contest. It is the third SBC Player of the Week honor this season for Middle Tennessee, with junior Amber Holt garnering the honor on November 14 and Givens earning the accolade on November 21.
