Volleyball Falls to North Texas in Sun Belt Opener

DENTON, Tx. - Junior KeKe Deckard recorded a double-double with 23 kills and 15 digs in Middle Tennessee volleyball's (7-9, 0-1 SBC) 3-1 loss (24-30, 30-27, 22-30, 32-30) to Sun Belt Conference foe North Texas (10-8, 1-0 SBC) Friday.
After dropping game one, the Lady Raiders fought back to win game two 30-27. Dropping game three, Middle Tennessee took North Texas to the wire in game four but lost 30-22.
Karisse Baker was the only other Lady Raider in double figure kills with 10 and sophomore Kimberly Moeller was second on the team in digs with 12. Freshman Andressa Lyra added 11 digs and junior Goldie Bilyeu had 23 assists.
Middle Tennessee returns to action on Sunday as the team travels to Bowling Green, Kentucky to take on Western Kentucky at 1 p.m.
