MONKEY ISLAND, Okla. - The Middle Tennessee women's golf team came away with a sixth place finish on Tuesday at the Battle of the Lake Invitation. The Lady Raiders had a 54-hole score of 922 on the par 70 Shangri La Resort golf course. Southern Methodist won the tournament with a score of 894, while host Oral Roberts came in second with a 912.
Kristin Lynch paced the Lady Raiders with a score of 230 to finish 14th. Lynch has now been the team's top finisher in the past two tournaments.
Tamara Munsch-Akers tied for 20th with a 232, but a disappointing 83 in the final round ruined what was headed for her best tournament of the year.
Maggie McGill equaled Munsch-Akers score of 232 to also tie for 20th, while teammate Jenny Kim tied for 23rd with a 233. Kim ended the tournament with a 75 in round two and again in round three.
Amanda Harter tied for 38th with a 240 to complete the Lady Raider scoring.
The Lady Raiders will be back in action on Oct. 27-28 at the Georgia State Invitational in Atlanta, Ga.
