Lady Raider Volleyball Loses to UTC 3-1
October 9, 2003 · MT Media RelationsChattanooga (8-9 overall) hung on for a two-point win in the first game and spread the offense around. The Lady Mocs were aided by seven Middle Tennessee serving errors. The Lady Raiders (7-13) bounced back for a game-two win behind KeKe Deckard and Karisse Baker at the net with four kills each.
The Lady Mocs grabbed the momentum with a win in game three as Liz Inskeep pounded down five kills . UTC had three aces in the game. UTC pulled away from the midway point of game.
Deckard's 24 kills paced the Lady Raiders, while Baker finished with 10. Deckard led the defense with 19 digs, while Megan Sumrell had 16, Victoria Monasterolo 15 and Goldie Bilyeu 12 digs to go with 31 assists. LaToya Brown, Deckard and Baker each had five blocks.
Middle Tennessee returns home Sunday October 12 to host the team's first Sun Belt match against Florida International.
