Four Lady Raiders Set to Compete in Southeast Regional

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Four members of the Middle Tennessee Lady Raider tennis team was selected to compete in the Omni Hotels Southeast Regional to be held on the campus of Wake Forest University.

Senior Laura McNamara opens the tournament for the Lady Raiders as she is playing in the qualifying singles draw on Thursday morning. McNamara will face Shannon Moore of Furman.

Manon Kruse, Jennifer Klaschka and Carien Venter each were selected to play in the main draw. Kruse, seeded No. 7, will face North Carolina A&T's Karissa Johnson at 12:30 p.m. Friday. Jennifer Klaschka, seeded No. 13, will face Duke's Kristin L. Cargill at 8 a.m. Friday. Venter, who is unseeded, will play North Carolina State's Kristin Lam at 9 a.m. Friday.

In doubles action, Kruse and Venter are seeded No. 3 and received a bye in the first round. The duo will play in the second round on Friday. Klaschka and McNamara are also paired up in doubles and received a first round bye and play on Friday as well.

"It is a great testament to the growth of our program to have two seeded players in singles and one in doubles," said head coach Randy Holden. "I am proud of our players and think they will have a successful tournament."
