The Blue Raiders (2-4) have lost four straight matches, all to ranked foes, with three on the road, over the last 10 days.

In doubles the Commodores (3-5) won a pair of tough matches at Nos. 1 and 2 to post the first point of the match.

At No. 3, Liberty Sveke and Courtney Ulery defeated Pooja Kommireddi and Stephanie Parkison, 8-1. VU won at No. 2, 8-5, with Take Bertrand and Catherine Newman taking down Marlene Chemin and Ann-Kristin Siljestrom, and Commodores Amanda Taylor and Amanda Fish won in a tiebreaker, 7-0, against Hala Sufi and Claudia Szabo.

In singles, only Sufi posted a victory, with all six matches in straight sets.

Vandy's Ulery defeated Parkison, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 4, while Newman won 6-0, 6-2, over Chemin at No. 3. Taylor took care of Siljestrom, 6-1, 6-2, at No. 2, while Sveke defeated Kommireddi, 6-3, 6-0, at No. 5. Caroline Ferrell won 6-1, 7-5, at No. 6 against Szabo.

Sufi, ranked 47th nationally in singles, defeated Bertrand, 6-4, 6-3, at No. 1 for the Blue Raiders.

Middle Tennessee travels to Chattanooga on Tuesday to face the Mocs at 2 p.m. CT before heading to Lubbock, Texas, next weekend for matches against Texas Tech and Air Force.
