Middle Tennessee found itself down 14-0 in the first quarter, but rallied to get back into the game in the second half. The Blue Raiders couldn't overcome the early deficit, eventually falling 33-28.
Wright for 100: WR Kerry Wright caught a career-high 10 balls for 144 yards, giving him his fourth 100-yard receiving game of the year. The 100-yard effort is the first for Wright since ringing up a career high187 yards against New Mexico State. Wright has now caught 46 passes for 879 yards on the season. Wright's catch total also ties him for sixth place on the all-time single game receptions list.
Yards After Catch: The Blue Raider receivers continue to make plays after catching the football. The team racked up 114 yards after the reception against North Texas. Statistically speaking, 45.2 percent of the team's 252 passing yards came after the reception. Kerry Wright led the team in YAC against North Texas with 53. Six Blue Raider tallied yards after the catch against the Mean Green.
Defensive Effort: The Blue Raiders got a solid defensive effort against the Mean Green tonight. The team was led by Will Martin's 13 stops, but the stats didn't end there. Nine different Blue Raider registered tackles-for-loss in the game, while Bobby Payne forced a fumble and Justin Rainey recovered it. The team limited North Texas to 2-of-10 on third down conversions and 1-of-2 on fourth down conversions.
Alexander Automotive Family Player of the Game: QB Andrico Hines was voted the Alexander Automotive Family Player of the game for his performance against the Mean Green. Hines completed 23-of-33 passes for 252 yards while rushing for 29 yards on 18 carries. Hines rushed for two scores and threw for another in the game.
