Blue Raiders card third-place finish at All-American Intercollegiate

Smith finishes tied for third in highest finish at Middle Tennessee

HOUSTON
- Middle Tennessee shot a final round 292 to finish tied for third at the highly competitive All-American Intercollegiate Invitational Tournament on Tuesday. The Blue Raiders shot an 878 total on The Tradition Course at Cypress Golf Club and only six shots back of first place.

Kansas won the event with an 872 followed by No. 3 ranked Lamar with an 873. MT and Southeastern Louisiana tied for third while host Houston rounded out the top five.

"I am very proud of this group because this was a field loaded with highly-ranked teams," said head coach Johnny Moore. "They competed and fought tooth and nail the entire way and that is all you can ask for in young group."

Redshirt freshman Craig Smith (Springfield, Tenn.) turned in his best finish as a collegian by tying for third place with a 216 total. After an impressive two-under par 70 in round two, Smith fired a 71 on Tuesday to lead the Blue Raiders.

After back-to-back scores of 71, sophomore Chas Narramore (Kingston, Tenn.) registered a 77 on Tuesday to slip from second to 11th. Narramore had a 219 total.

Senior Bart Barnes (Opp, Ala.) enjoyed a solid tournament with a 220 score to tie for 13th overall. Barnes carded a 73 on Tuesday.

Freshman Kent Bulle (Glasgow, Ky.) tied for 41st with a 227, while teammate senior Spencer Provow (Murfreesboro) tied for 43rd with a 228.

The Blue Raiders will now head to Tampa, Fla., for the South Florida Intercollegiate March 2-4. Middle Tennessee is the defending champion in the tournament and will be gunning for its third straight top five finish this spring.
